The ancient cupola tomb (dating back from the 2nd - 3rd century AD) is the only one of its kind on the Balkan Peninsula.
Here the priests divined the will of the god Sabazius, called Apollo in daytime, by virtue of the rays penetrating through the hollow cupola when the Sun reached its zenith. But when the sun set, however, they lit a fire on the altar-hearth and divined the will of their God according to the play of the flames that sparkled through the opening and reflected in the night sky. During this ritual, the god Sabazius was called Dionysus.
